Sabina Ott
A 2015 Guggenheim Fellowship Grantee, Sabina Ott is an established multi-disciplinary Chicago based artist. Her work is in numerous collections including the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA), The Whitney Museum of American Art and The Metropolitan Museum of Art. Sabina Ott has shown internationally beginning with an inaugural solo exhibition at The Los Angeles Institute of Contemporary Art in 1983. Her work incorporates installation-based themes into wall and floor based works filled with allegorical and baroque leanings. These works, made with lightweight yet impactful materials, such as polystyrene and spray foam, creates a spatial environment onto the two dimensional plane of the work. Recent solo show at The Chicago Cultural Center garnered favorable reviews in Artforum, Art in America and Hyperallergic.
